Justine is a graduate of UC Berkeley’s Master of Landscape Architecture Program and the University of Utah’s Multi-Disciplinary Design program. Her work explores the intersection of land art, ecology, and climate resilience, with a particular interest in bird migration, native plants, wetlands, and historical ecologies. This summer, she followed the migration corridor of the Rufous hummingbird, traveling through California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. She documented the species' stopover and breeding habitats through drawing, writing, and photography. Rooted in a fascination with the natural world, Justine views design as a powerful tool for fostering meaningful connections between humans and non-humans. Originally from Oregon’s Willamette Valley, she is inspired by the region’s diverse landscapes and is excited to be back engaging with them through her work.
