UO to host Pacific Rim sustainability hub, inaugural conference

Department of Landscape Architecture Professor Bart Johnson is leading the steering committee for the new Association of Pacific Rim Universities Sustainable Cities and Landscapes Hub (APRU SCL), which UO has been selected to host. UO landscape architecture Assistant Professor Yekang Ko will direct the hub, a clearinghouse for collaborative research and innovative solutions in urban development with a focus on city-landscape interaction. Ko is also organizing the inaugural APRU SCL Conference, at UO September 15-17, 2017. Eight other universities, along with UO, comprise the steering committee: Australian National University; National Taiwan University; Tsinghua University, China; University of California, Los Angeles; University of Chile; University of Hong Kong; University of New South Wales, Australia; and University of Washington.
