The Historic Preservation program provides academic advising by appointment. Advising is available during fall, winter, and spring terms.
To schedule an advising appointment about the Historic Preservation graduate program, please contact the program office at histpres@uoregon.edu.
Amalia Leifeste, program director, mentors students with questions about the discipline of historic preservation and its career opportunities throughout your preservation education- from perspective student to alumni. Reach out via email aleifest@uoregon.edu for questions about the curriculum or HP content. She happily answers questions or discusses over email or coordinates to set a time for a one-on-one meeting with prospective students, current students, and program alumni.
If you wish to learn more about the Historic Preservation minor available for undergraduate students in Eugene, information is forthcoming as we aim for a Fall 2026 reactivation. When active, please contact College of Design Student Services.
Career Advising
In addition to department advising, you can access assistance from a college-wide career advisor to help you develop career goals, design an internship/job search strategy, create career application materials, and strengthen interviewing skills. You can schedule an individual appointment, enroll in a career development course (DSGN), and access resources through the Career Services website.
