Apply for a Master of Science in Interior Architecture

  • Application Available: September 15
  • Priority Application Deadline:  January 2
    Late applications may be accepted on a space-available basis through May 1.
  • Application Decision: Decision letters are usually emailed by the end of February or shortly thereafter.

(Note: If the application deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline is the following business day.)

Applicants must have an undergraduate professional degree in interior design/architecture or architecture. This degree does not provide a path to licensure.

Application Process

The Division of Graduate Studies offers limited graduate application fee waivers for applicants who meet specific criteria, as outlined on the Division of Graduate Studies' application fee waiver page. 

Department of Interior Architecture Application Requirements:

  • Summary of Goals and Intent
    • Describe your general academic and career goals and why you wish to attend the University of Oregon. Your ideas should be clear, specific, and persuasive. 
  • Research Statement of Intent
    • Please describe the issues important to your research, potential questions for study or inquiry, the methods and materials you might use, and possible outcomes. Explain how your research area connects to select faculty you are interested in working with. The committee will use this statement to assess your ability to articulate an area of study and how it connects to the research expertise of the faculty and the department. 
  • Writing Sample
  • Vitae or Resume
  • Transcripts
  • GRE Score Report (optional)
  • Three (3) Recommendations
  • Portfolio

Non-native English speakers need to meet the UO Division of Graduate Studies’ language proficiency requirements.

Once admitted to the program, a deposit will be required of all incoming students.
