Note to International Students: Starting September 2020, the School of Architecture & Environment's Architecture degrees, including the Bachelor of Architecture (BArch), Master of Architecture (MArch), Master of Science in Architecture (MS), and PhD in Architecture are approved fields of study within the U.S. government’s official STEM fields list to qualify students for the STEM Optional Practical Training (OPT) Extension. The STEM OPT Extension allows for practical work experience in this field of study—typically after completion of a degree—for a maximum of 36 months (12 months of “regular” OPT with a 24-month extension possible). The OPT Extension will apply to students still in their degree programs, those who've just graduated, and even those who are currently in their OPT period.
Note: Master of Architecture II and MS in Architecture candidates can initiate and complete required coursework in either Eugene or in Portland in order to earn a degree. Once candidates have completed the necessary prerequisites, they are eligible to continue on to Portland to complete degree requirements.
